Go farther, smarter

Join Wolf Pack Overland for our End-of-Summer Pacific Coast Run. This unique 3-day event transitions from sand driving on the beach to tight, muddy ascents deep in the Tillamook logging networks.

You’ll gain critical skills for navigating rugged trails, understanding your Revel's dynamics, using recovery gear effectively, and making smart decisions.

Included:
  • Exact tire pressures for your loaded Revel or GH1. Sand, rock, and everything between.

  • Trail tire changes in soft sand and uneven terrain. Not a parking lot drill.

  • Trail repair training. Sidewalls, blown beads, broken suspension, no cell service.

  • A gear audit. What you brought, what’s undersized, what you’re missing.

  • A live multi-vehicle recovery. You lead it, you execute it.

  • 12+ hours training on the Revel, taught by a fellow Revel owner. Not a generic van course.

Location: Oregon Coast

Practice your recovery skills in diverse terrain. You’ll learn on forest trails, and open dispersed camping areas.

Exact meet-up location and GPS coordinates will be shared upon registration.

The Weekend Itinerary

Friday Orientation (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

  • 1-on-1 Vehicle Consultations. Assess your specific weight distribution, suspension and tires, and discuss your off-road goals for the weekend.
  • Gear Audit. Personal evaluation of your current recovery kit.

Saturday Trail Run (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

    • Precise sand tire pressures, momentum management, and how to un-bog a heavy van using traction boards and kinetic ropes.
    • Radio communication standards, spacing for dust management, and blind-corner spotting.
    • We traverse the steep, dense logging roads of the Tillamook forest. Expect deep ruts, tight clearances, and comprehensive instruction on identifying safe tow points and running winch lines.
  • A final technical push to a secluded Pacific overlook.
  • Evening: Break for the evening to clean up, relax, and enjoy the secluded ridge-line boondocking site.

Sunday Beach Drive (10:00 AM – Early Afternoon):

    • We take to the coast and venture on the sand before we hit Highway 101 for home.
Revel Requirements & Upgrades
  • AWD / 4WD drivetrain
  • All-Terrain (A/T) tires
  • Traction boards (e.g., Maxtrax) and rated rear shackle blocks.
  • GMRS radio.
Recommended Revel Upgrades
  • Any recovery gear you have on hand.
  • Onboard air compressor for frequent tire pressure adjustments between the sand and the dirt.

Why Choose This Course?

Most Revel & GH1 owners bought their van to go places other people can’t. But when the trail gets tight, the sand gets soft, or the mud gets deep, gear you’ve never practiced with becomes dead weight.

Air down on the Oregon coast, thread tight logging roads in the Tillamook, and sleep on a ridgeline you earned. Every scenario is calibrated to the Revel’s weight, its suspension, its tow points, and its limitations.

You’ll leave knowing how to read terrain before you enter it, how to recover your rig without waiting for someone else, and how to make smart calls when the conditions change fast.

About Your Pack Leader

JJ has more than three decades of experience in multi-terrain vehicle operations with 22 years of training rescue professionals and special operations groups in the harshest conditions.

Before his "fun-retirement-job" of building van's suspension & electrical, JJ was a first responder and medical professional.

As one of the country's most knowledgable experts on the Sprinter and Transit platform, JJ knows your van down to the frame, transfer case, and load.

That means your training is focused on learning and enjoying your vehicle without worry, knowing you're in good hands.

Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind the value of this training. If you complete the course and don’t feel it was worth your time or money, simply email us with your feedback. We’ll refund the full cost of your registration, no questions asked.

You’re welcome to keep any course materials and handouts as our thanks for giving it a try.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each Wolf Pack event is intentionally capped at a small number of vehicles (usually 5–10) to ensure a personal, high-quality experience. Registration is first come, first served.

We welcome Sprinter vans, adventure vans, Class B RVs, small overland builds, and similar adventure vehicles. Specific requirements are listed in each event description. Feel free to reach out if you're unsure whether your setup is a fit.

Yes! Passengers and partners are welcome unless otherwise noted for a specific event. We encourage bringing someone to share the experience.

In general, well-behaved dogs are welcome at most events. However, some locations or activities (like certain state parks, recovery trainings, or wildlife areas) may have restrictions. Pet policies will be clearly listed per event.

Wolf Pack events are designed to run rain or shine. We believe real adventure includes real conditions. In cases of extreme, unsafe weather (such as wildfires, floods, or severe storms), we will reschedule or refund as needed.

A packing list and tools list will be provided after registration, customized for each event. Expect to bring basics like food, water, fuel, sleeping setup, recovery gear (where applicable), appropriate clothing, and basic van necessities.

Due to the small group sizes and advanced planning, Wolf Pack event registrations are non-refundable within 30 days of the event. However, if you need to cancel earlier, or if we must reschedule due to weather or emergencies, we’ll work with you fairly.

If you can comfortably walk around a campground, crouch, lift light gear, and hike short distances on uneven ground, you’ll be fine. We adjust our pace to the group. No extreme hiking or climbing required.
