It might not be the most profitable business model, but it's the one that builds trust and earns customers for life.
When the ride is still harsh or the sway didn't go away, you're not calling the guy on the forum who recommended it. You call the shop that installed it.

Know What You're Buying
"I like the color blue" might be reason enough for one owner to select a suspension (yes, that was a real conversation). But the conversations we prefer to have are:
- Where are you going?
- How do you travel?
- What problem are you trying to fix?
Frustrated shoppers get fatigued reading other owners stories of confirmation bias, ending up with buyers remorse.
The internet lacks a source of truth for van suspensions. Which was the catalyst for this guide. Here's the truth about the fixes you're reading about online.
What We Won't Treat As A Primary Answer
We start from springs, then dampers, then mounts, then alignment. That order isn't a brand preference, it's the load path. Here is what we will not install as a primary solution, and why:
- Helper airbags on a Sprinter to fix sag: The unibody frame rail where airbag brackets mount is relatively thin. Pumping air to 70+ PSI to recover ride height concentrates that weight on a tiny section of rail that highway potholes have bent and cracked before. Airbags also add zero rebound damping, so the axle can pogo. Exceptions: unbalanced side to side weight, or a light rig towing a trailer that needs the rear hiked so headlights don't blind oncoming traffic.
- A sway bar as a first purchase: Your stock bar has almost no travel left once the van is sitting on its bump stops, so swapping it does almost nothing. Most of what owners call sway is crosswind push and highway wander, and a sway bar does nothing for either. Fine as a finishing piece on a van that's already supported.
- Add-a-leaf as the final answer: Slipping an extra leaf into a tired factory pack can stiffen the ride, but it rarely restores true rated capacity across the full load range. Useful as a conscious short term move, not a solution.
- Commercial 3500 packs on a 2500 chassis: Perches, tube diameters, and U-bolt spacing differ. The ride will be hostile.
- Spacer-only or block-only lifts: They raise height artifically without adding supprtive rate.
- Transit AWD over-extension: Any combination that pushes Transit AWD CV joints past a safe operating angle in the name of lift.
- Shock-only packages on a flat pack: Unless the owner understands they're buying time, not a solution.

Don't Wait to Upgrade Your Suspension
It's common advice to "wait and see if you need suspension."
If you're overweight, there's no question. You need it. Waiting for springs to flatten or shocks to blow doesn't help anyone. As our safety page points out, you're only causing more damage to your van and your driving experience.
The one real exception is an incomplete build: wait until your interior build is done and you have a final vehicle weight before you upgrade.
Don't Spend too Much
Again, not he most profitable advice for our suspension shop to give.
But in all honesty, the most expensive suspension options on the market aren't always the best one for you.
Get the van properly supported first with leafs. Spend more only when you want that last bit of tunable performance and understand exactly what you're paying for.
